Su f\u00f3rmula condensada es n-alquil metil bencil cloruro de amonio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Es utilizado tambi\u00e9n como\u00a0fungicida, espec\u00edficamente sobre los g\u00e9neros\u00a0<i>Trichophyton<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Epidermophyton<\/i>\u00a0y\u00a0<i>Candida<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>MECANISMO DE ACCI\u00d3N<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dicha acci\u00f3n se ha atribuido a la inactivaci\u00f3n de las\u00a0enzimas\u00a0productoras de\u00a0energ\u00eda,\u00a0desnaturalizaci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas\u00a0celulares esenciales y la ruptura de la\u00a0membrana celular.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Toxicolog.C3.ADa\"><\/span><strong><span class=\"mw-editsection\"><span class=\"mw-editsection-bracket\">TOXICOLOG\u00cdA<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El cloruro de benzalconio es corrosivo y t\u00f3xico en altas concentraciones,seg\u00fan la ficha MSDS de referencia BE0155 conforme a la directiva 2001\/58\/CE, as\u00ed como de una gran toxicidad en ambientes acu\u00e1ticos.
